Lifetime is diving into another chilling, ripped-from-the-headlines thriller — this time with star Lela Rochon and alum Jarod Joseph leading the cast in Shopping Cart Killer (working title).
Inspired by true events, Shopping Cart Killer centers on Monica (Rochon), a woman ready to start fresh after sending her son off to military school. When she meets Anthony (Joseph) through a dating app, she believes she’s found real love — until she discovers he’s hiding a dark and deadly secret. As Monica begins to piece together clues linking Anthony to a string of murders, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop his killing spree.
The TV movie comes from Studio TF1 America, which recently brought on Meghan Hooper White as EVP of Global Strategy and Co-Productions. The project is a natural fit for Hooper White, who previously served as VP of Original Movies, Co-Productions, and Acquisitions at Lifetime Networks — where she helped build the network’s signature slate of true-crime-inspired films.
The film is produced by PF Pine Productions in association with Rohm Feifer Entertainment and Studio TF1 America. Executive producers include Meghan Hooper White, Kara Feifer, Timothy O. Johnson, and Elisabeth Röhm, who also directs.
A+E holds worldwide rights outside of Canada and will be shopping the project to international buyers this week as part of its MIPCOM 2025 distribution slate.
Studio TF1 America was formed through the merger of Johnson Production Group and Reel One Entertainment, both known for their TV movie expertise, creating a joint venture with Studio TF1 and A+E Global Media.
Both Lifetime and Studio TF1 America are part of the A+E Global Media family.
