Lifetime Sets Cast for ‘Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie’

Lifetime is expanding its acclaimed Black Girl Missing anthology with a powerful new installment: Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie. The film, executive produced by and starring Garcelle Beauvais, will premiere Saturday, October 25 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.

Beauvais stars as Kai, a tough and determined trucker who co-owns her family’s business. When her niece Toy (played by Sierra Sidwell, Buying Back My Daughter) is abducted by an online predator, Kai refuses to stand by while authorities hit a dead end. Alongside her sister Madison (Marci T. House, Murder in a Small Town), Kai rallies the support of her trucking community and uses her social media influence to launch a grassroots manhunt for Toy.

Beauvais steps into a role that combines grit, resilience, and advocacy. Marci T. House brings emotional weight as a mother navigating unthinkable trauma, while Sidwell’s portrayal of Toy promises to ground the story in urgency and reality.

Produced by Navid Soofi for PF Maple Productions in association with Studio TF1 America, Garcelle Beauvais Productions, and Gilbertson Entertainment, the film is directed by Kailey and Sam Spear from a teleplay by Francesca Gailes and Jacqueline J. Gailes.

The Black Girl Missing franchise has made waves for centering the too-often overlooked stories of missing Black women and girls, sparking dialogue about the inequities in media coverage and systemic response. With this third chapter, Lifetime raises the stakes with a story set against the gritty, high-stakes world of trucking.

The Black Girl Missing franchise has already earned critical acclaim, including an NAACP Image Award nomination and a Gracie Award win. This new installment continues the mission to spotlight the disparity in how missing persons cases are treated when it comes to Black women and girls.

Taken at a Truck Stop isn’t just a thriller—it’s a call to action. By blending suspense with social commentary, Lifetime ensures that these vital stories continue to reach mainstream audiences.

The film premieres October 25, rounding out a month-long lineup of ripped-from-the-headlines originals.
