Lifetime has officially released the first trailer for Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted 2 Love, offering a deeper look at the romance, emotional tension, and second-chance love story at the center of the highly anticipated sequel to Tempted by Love.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Portugal, the film reunites Garcelle Beauvais, Lela Rochon, and Vaughn W. Hebron, while welcoming Boris Kodjoe as a compelling new love interest. Mara Huf also joins the cast, adding another emotional layer to the story.
The trailer teases a familiar yet evolved Ava (Beauvais), now a celebrated chef who appears to have moved on from past heartbreak—including her complicated romance with Luke (Hebron), a younger man who once challenged her sense of love and vulnerability. At an elite culinary event in Portugal, Ava arrives with her new boyfriend Ellis (Kodjoe), whose confidence and charm suggest a fresh start. That sense of closure is disrupted when Luke unexpectedly appears with his own partner, Lily (Huf), reopening unresolved feelings neither is prepared to confront.
As the story unfolds across kitchens, castles, and candlelit conversations, Ava and Luke are forced to reckon with the choices they’ve made—and the ones they may still be afraid to claim. Rochon returns as Deena, continuing her role as Ava’s trusted confidant.
Directed by Roger Bobb and written by Tamara T. Gregory, the film is executive produced by D’Angela Proctor for Undaunted Content in partnership with Motion Entertainment. Gregory, Beauvais, and Terry McMillan also serve as executive producers, with Kodjoe and Hebron producing.
Tempted 2 Love continues Beauvais’s strong creative partnership with Lifetime, following a slate of projects that center Black women’s lives with care and nuance. Past collaborations—including Black Girl Missing, Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie, and Tempted by Love—have earned recognition from the Gracie Awards, Astra Awards, and nominations from the NAACP Image and Black Reel Awards.
The film premieres Saturday, January 31, at 8/7c, as part of Lifetime’s Love of a Lifetime movie event. With the trailer now out, Tempted 2 Love positions itself as another emotionally rich chapter in Lifetime’s ongoing commitment to romance-driven stories that resonate deeply with its audience.
