Lifetime is expanding its Terry McMillan Presents film franchise with Preach, Pray, Love, a new original movie headlined by Emmy Award-winning actress Karrueche Tran and rising actor Mark J.P. Hood. The film premieres Saturday, November 8 at 8/7c as part of the network’s Love of a Lifetime programming event.
Tran stars as Charlisa “Charlie” Jones, a platinum-selling rapper whose provocative image has defined her career—and landed her in legal trouble. After serving time in prison, Charlie is forced into community service, where she meets Pastor Kyrus Owens (Hood), a devoted minister raising funds to build a home for his congregation. Despite their different worlds, the two share an undeniable spark that soon grows into an unexpected romance.
As their relationship deepens, Pastor Owens faces pushback from members of his church questioning his priorities, while Charlie struggles to reconcile her edgy persona with her desire for redemption. Both must confront personal and public challenges, leaning on honesty, prayer, and love to bridge the gap between their communities.
Joining the ensemble cast are B. Simone, Tobias Truvillion, Da Brat, and Reginae Carter.

This marks the fourth installment in the Terry McMillan Presents franchise, following the success of Tempted by Love starring Garcelle Beauvais, and Forever starring Taye Diggs and Meagan Good.
The project is executive produced by D’Angela Proctor for Undaunted Content, along with Karrueche Tran and Damon Lee. Lee also directs the film, working from a script by Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan.
