Lil Mama is teaming up with star Jason Mitchell for the gritty new action-thriller Mercy Mercy Me, written and directed by Wes Miller (A Day to Die).

Set in 1985, the film follows two reformed outlaws—Mercy (Lil Mama) and Khaos (Mitchell)—who are reluctantly pulled back into the criminal underworld they left behind. Their final job throws them headfirst into conflict with ruthless mob bosses, a corrupt detective played by Couples Retreat star Carlos Ponce, and the ghosts of their own past decisions.

Below are first-look images of Lil Mama and Jason Mitchell in character.

The project is being financed by L.A.-based indie production company Blacklight. Producers include Andrew van den Houten and Wes Miller, with Joseph O’Connor and Lloyd Watts on board as co-producers. Jessie Jalee and Chad Ghiron serve as executive producers. 79th & Broadway Entertainment will handle domestic and international sales.

“This is a story about grief, guilt, and the struggle to find forgiveness,” said Miller in a statement. “I wanted to explore how unresolved pain can echo through generations. The cast brought raw, fearless performances that made every moment feel lived-in. I’m excited to share it with our audience.”

Miller’s past work includes River Runs Red (2018) starring Taye Diggs, George Lopez, and John Cusack, and A Day to Die (2022), which featured Bruce Willis, Kevin Dillon, Leon, and Frank Grillo.
