Marvel Studios Unveils Major Updates: Renewals, Premiere Dates, and New Series Announcements

Marvel Television and Marvel Animation took over New York Comic Con with a wave of updates across both live-action and animated series — including new renewals, official premiere windows, and long-awaited footage reveals.

X-Men ’97

  • Season 2 Premiere: Summer 2026 on Disney+
  • Season 3: Officially greenlit
Marvel’s Emmy-nominated revival of the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series continues to thrive. The show’s second season will feature the return of original series creators Eric and Julia Lewald and director Larry Houston as executive producers. The announcement also confirmed that X-Men ’97 Season 3 is already in development, ensuring more mutant adventures ahead.

Daredevil: Born Again

  • Season 2 Premiere: March 2026 on Disney+
  • Season 3: In development
Daredevil: Born Again will see Charlie Cox return as Matt Murdock, alongside Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson. The trio appeared together on stage to tease what’s next for Marvel’s gritty street-level series. A third season has already been confirmed, signaling Marvel’s renewed investment in the grounded corner of its universe.

Wonder Man

  • Premiere Date: January 27, 2026 on Disney+
Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley, Wonder Man dives into the meta world of superhero filmmaking. The 8-episode series follows Simon Williams, an actor vying for the role of a superhero in a movie remake—blurring the line between art and life. The trailer unveiled at NYCC promises sharp satire, Hollywood humor, and Marvel’s most self-aware series yet.

VisionQuest

  • Premiere Window: Late 2026 on Disney+
Serving as the conclusion to the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along, VisionQuest will see Paul Bettany return as Vision. Fans were stunned by the reveal that James Spader will reprise his role as Ultron, appearing in human form. Other AI entities from across the MCU—FRIDAY, JARVIS, EDITH, and DUM-E—will appear in human form as well. The series appears to explore identity, consciousness, and legacy in the age of artificial intelligence.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

  • Season 2 Premiere: Fall 2026 on Disney+
Season 2 of the hit animated series swings back with the Venom symbiote, Gwen Stacy, and returning faces like Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. The trailer revealed that Norman and Harry Osborn, Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, and Scorpion will all factor into Peter Parker’s evolving world. Actor Hudson Thames continues voicing the young Spider-Man in this alternate-universe take that swaps out Tony Stark’s mentorship for Norman Osborn’s guidance.

Marvel’s 2026 slate marks a full creative reset for the studio’s TV branch, with a mix of nostalgia, character-driven storytelling, and experimental world-building on Disney+.
