By the power of Grayskull, Eternia is calling once again.
Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios have unveiled the first full trailer for their live-action Masters Of The Universe, offering an early look at Idris Elba in action alongside Nicholas Galitzine’s Prince Adam — and teasing a modern reintroduction of the iconic franchise for a new generation.
The trailer opens on Adam living an unremarkable life on Earth, far removed from his royal destiny. Fifteen years after being separated from Eternia, the rediscovery of the Sword of Power pulls him back into a universe overtaken by darkness. With his home world now under the rule of Skeletor, Adam must reunite with trusted allies and embrace his transformation into He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.
Elba appears as Duncan / Man-At-Arms, a key protector of Eternia and one of Adam’s most vital allies, while Camila Mendes stars as warrior Teela. The trailer also features a brief appearance from Sasheer Zamata, appearing during Adam’s time on Earth before the story shifts to an intergalactic battle for the fate of Eternia.
The film’s ensemble cast includes Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley, with Kristen Wiig lending her voice to Roboto. Jared Leto takes on the role of Skeletor, the film’s primary antagonist.
Directed by Travis Knight, the film is based on a screenplay by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham, with story contributions from Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, Alex Litvak, and Michael Finch. Producers include DeVon Franklin, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, and Steve Tisch.
Visually, the trailer blends grounded Earth settings with the heightened fantasy of Eternia, culminating in a climactic tease of He-Man’s first confrontation with Skeletor — and the debut of Battle Cat, a longtime fan favorite.
Masters Of The Universe is set for a theatrical release on June 5, 2026, distributed domestically by Amazon MGM Studios and internationally by Sony Pictures International Releasing.
The battle for Eternia officially begins this summer.
