Michael B. Jordan Joins Animated Buddy Comedy ‘Swapped’ for Netflix

Nature’s sworn enemies are teaming up in the animated comedy Swapped, coming to Netflix in 2026.

Formerly titled Pookoo, the film stars Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple as two creatures from opposite sides of the animal kingdom who get caught in a body-swap mishap. Jordan voices a tiny woodland creature, while Temple plays a regal bird — a setup that sends both characters into chaos as they’re forced to inhabit each other’s bodies and survive the Valley, the wild world they call home.

Swapped is directed by Nathan Greno (Tangled) from a script by John Whittington (The Lego Batman Movie) and writing partners Christian Magalhaes and Robert Snow (DuckTales, WondLa). John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews produce for Skydance Animation and Netflix.

In a statement, Greno described the film as “an unpredictable, emotional ride — full of humor, spectacle, and heart.” He said the creative team drew inspiration from live-action nature documentaries to craft a world that feels “vibrant and deeply human.”

Greno also praised the chemistry between Jordan and Temple, noting that they bring “warmth and authenticity” to their characters. “Every moment between them feels alive — funny one second, deeply moving the next,” he said.

As the unlikely duo embark on their own version of a Freaky Friday adventure, the film promises big laughs, unexpected teamwork, and plenty of feathers and fur out of place.

Swapped arrives on Netflix in 2026.
