We love it over here! Murderbot is officially coming back for Season 2 on Apple TV+.
The sci-fi thriller/comedy—starring and executive produced by Alexander Skarsgård—has been renewed ahead of its Season 1 finale, which drops this Friday.
Based on the beloved novella series by Martha Wells, Murderbot follows a self-aware, self-hacked security android who’s equal parts brilliant and emotionally avoidant. All it really wants? To be left alone to binge futuristic soap operas like Sanctuary Moon. Instead, it’s stuck hiding its autonomy and completing high-stakes missions alongside vulnerable human clients.
Season 1 cast includes Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones, and Tamara Podemski.
The series was created by Chris and Paul Weitz (About a Boy), who also serve as showrunners and executive producers under their Depth of Field banner. Andrew Miano, David S. Goyer, and Keith Levine also EP, with Martha Wells serving as a consulting producer.
Murderbot hails from CBS Studios. Season 2 is currently in development.
