NBC Drops Intense First Trailer for ‘The Hunting Party’ Season 2

NBC has officially released the first trailer for The Hunting Party Season 2, and if fans thought last season’s finale was chaotic, the new footage promises an even darker and more explosive return. The breakout thriller is back on January 8, 2026, with former FBI profiler Rebecca “Bex” Henderson and her team stepping deeper into the conspiracy surrounding The Pit — the secret government prison that launched the entire series.

Season 1 left viewers with major questions: Is Oliver Odell actually alive? Who’s running the base now? And just how many killers escaped from The Pit? The new trailer wastes no time hinting that the answers won’t come easy. Bex (Melissa Roxburgh) is bruised, exhausted, and more relentless than ever as she hunts down the country’s most dangerous fugitives — many of whom now seem to be working together.

Alongside the high-stakes action, Season 2 digs deeper into the personal lives of the core team. Shane’s strained relationship with his mother and Jacob’s mysterious past — including new questions about his wife — both take center stage. “Now that the show has been set up and we have our system in place, I want to be able to tell more of the stories of their personal lives,” Roxburgh recently told NBC Insider.

The trailer also spotlights a wave of standout guest stars joining the season. Eric McCormack appears as Ron Simms, the so-called “Boogeyman” killer, with his son Finnigan portraying the younger version of the character in flashbacks. Niecy Nash-Betts makes her series debut in Episode 2 as Detective Erica Burke, whose past run-in with a serial killer resurfaces in dangerous ways. Additional new faces include Kelsey Grammer as resurrected cult leader Noah Cyrus, Elizabeth Gillies as “the Masseuse” killer Amanda Weiss, and Jefferson White as Lou Kaplan, a tech-savvy murderer who has swapped killing influencers for manipulating them.

Series regulars Nick Wechsler, Patrick Sabongui, Josh McKenzie, and Sara Garcia all return as the core team, picking up right where Season 1’s cliffhangers left off. And if the trailer is any indication, their bond will be tested more than ever as the lines between their mission and the truth about The Pit begin to blur.

The Hunting Party Season 2 premieres Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, with next-day streaming on Peacock. The hunt is officially back on — and more twisted than ever.
