Netflix has officially released the teaser trailer for the long-awaited final season of Stranger Things, and it promises an epic, emotional showdown to close out one of the most iconic TV sagas of the last decade.
The End Begins in 1987
Set in the fall of 1987, the final season finds Hawkins in ruins following the opening of the Rifts. The town is under military quarantine, Eleven is back in hiding, and Vecna — the series’ most terrifying villain yet — is missing. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ original disappearance approaches, a familiar dread creeps back in.
“Our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna,” reads the official synopsis. “But to end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
A Three-Part Event
The final season will be released in three parts:
- Volume 1 premieres November 26, 2025 at 5PM PT
- Volume 2 drops December 25, 2025 at 5PM PT
- The Finale airs December 31, 2025 at 5PM PT
First Look at Linda Hamilton and More
The trailer also gives fans their first glimpse of Terminator icon Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay, along with chilling shots of Demogorgons erupting from the shadows and a town barely holding together under siege.
The returning ensemble cast includes:
Winona Ryder (Joyce Byers), David Harbour (Jim Hopper), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield), Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers), Joe Keery (Steve Harrington), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair), Brett Gelman (Murray), Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna), Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler), Amybeth McNulty (Vickie), Nell Fisher (Holly Wheeler), Jake Connelly (Derek Turnbow), Alex Breaux (Lt. Akers), and Linda Hamilton (Dr. Kay).
Closing the Upside Down’s Mysteries
According to creators Matt and Ross Duffer, the final season will also dive deeper into the mythology of the Upside Down. A 25-page lore document written back during Season 1 is finally coming into play.
“We’ve punted a couple of those [reveals] to have some big reveals in Season 5,” Ross Duffer said. “And that’s really going to affect what Season 5 is about.”
From Cultural Phenomenon to Final Showdown
Stranger Things is produced by Upside Down Pictures and 21 Laps Entertainment. The Duffer Brothers serve as creators and executive producers, alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.
After nearly a decade of Demogorgons, disappearances, and Dungeons & Dragons, the end is here — and the stakes have never been higher.
