Netflix’s ‘Swapped’ Sets Premiere Date, Drops Teaser Art And Adds Four to Voice Cast

Netflix has officially unveiled new details about Swapped, the upcoming animated adventure from Skydance Animation starring Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple. Alongside confirming the film’s May 1, 2026 global premiere, the streamer has also released first-look images and announced three new additions to the voice cast.

The animated feature is the second Skydance Animation project set to debut on Netflix in 2026, joining the studio’s upcoming film Ray Gunn, which is expected later in the year.

Jordan leads the voice cast as Ollie, a small woodland creature, opposite Temple as Ivy, a majestic bird. The pair are natural enemies in their ecosystem until a mysterious event causes them to swap bodies, forcing them to work together to survive.

Previously announced cast members include Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer. The newly revealed additions expand the ensemble with:

• Justina Machado (The Horror of Dolores Roach) as Calli
• Ambika Mod (One Day, This Is Going to Hurt) as Violet
• Lolly Adefope (Ghosts, Miracle Workers) as Lily

The film also features Táta Vega as Grandma. Violet and Lily play the sisters of Temple’s character Ivy, while Machado voices the mother of Jordan’s character.

Swapped follows Ollie and Ivy—two creatures from opposite sides of The Valley—who suddenly find themselves in each other’s bodies. Forced to navigate unfamiliar territory and perspectives, the unlikely duo must work together to reverse the swap while surviving a chaotic adventure across the valley.

The film is directed by Nathan Greno, best known for co-directing Disney’s Tangled. The screenplay is written by John Whittington, Christian Magalhaes, and Robert Snow, from a story by Whittington, Magalhaes, Snow, Adam Karp, and Greno.

Behind the scenes, the animated feature is produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews for Skydance Animation, with Siddhartha Khosla composing the score.

The newly released images offer a glimpse into the film’s vibrant world, showcasing the creatures of the valley—including bird and mammal families connected to the story’s central duo—hinting at a colorful, nature-inspired adventure when Swapped arrives on Netflix next spring.
