Nicole Beharie and John Douglas Thompson Join Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù in Netflix’s All the Sinners Bleed

Nicole Beharie and John Douglas Thompson are the latest additions to Netflix’s upcoming Southern Gothic thriller All the Sinners Bleed. The two will star alongside Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs of London, Black Rabbit), who was previously announced as the lead.

Based on S.A. Cosby’s bestselling 2023 novel, the nine-episode series follows Titus Crown (Dìrísù), the first Black sheriff in a small county deep in the Bible Belt. Haunted by the untimely death of his devout mother and a complicated past with the FBI, Titus is thrust into a chilling investigation when a serial killer begins targeting his Black community under the guise of divine justice.

Beharie will step into the role of Darlene Taylor, Titus’s supportive girlfriend, while Thompson will play Albert Crown, his father.

The project comes from Joe Robert Cole, the co-writer of Marvel’s Black Panther and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Cole serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer, and will direct the pilot along with additional episodes. Executive producers also include Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, Amblin Television, and Cosby himself.

Nicole Beharie’s momentum

Beharie continues to ride a career-high following her Emmy-nominated turn as Christina Hunter on The Morning Show. She recently wrapped filming Elegance Bratton’s crime thriller By Any Means and stars in Killing Castro, which made its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Known for her acclaimed performance in Miss Juneteenth, Beharie has also appeared in 42, Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul., Fox’s Sleepy Hollow, and Black Mirror.

John Douglas Thompson’s prestige

Thompson, widely respected for his stage work, brings gravitas to every role he takes on. His screen credits include HBO’s The Gilded Age, Mare of Easttown, Till, and the Showtime series Your Honor.

With Dìrísù leading, Beharie and Thompson joining the cast, and Cole at the helm, All the Sinners Bleed is shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most gripping and anticipated thrillers.
