‘Night Patrol’: Ryan Prows Unleashes a Gritty Vampire Cop Thriller [TRAILER]

Ryan Prows is back on the scene with Night Patrol — and the newly released trailer wastes no time letting you know this is not your typical cop thriller. It’s grimy, it’s bloody, it’s charged with social tension, and it leans all the way into its ferocious vampire twist. The film hits theaters January 16, 2026, with an ensemble cast stacked with familiar faces and bold choices: Jermaine Fowler, Justin Long, RJ Cyler, Freddie Gibbs, CM Punk, YG, Flying Lotus, Dermot Mulroney, Jon Oswald, and Nicki Micheaux.

At its core, Night Patrol follows an LAPD officer who’s forced to partner with the very street gangs he’s spent years trying to distance himself from. Why? Because he uncovers a police task force hiding a monstrous secret that threatens the residents of the housing projects he grew up in. The trailer teases a tight blend of horror, street-level politics, and unrelenting tension — the kind of genre mashup that’s been missing on the big screen.

RLJE Films and Shudder acquired North American rights to the film just ahead of its world premiere at the 2025 Fantastic Fest. Mark Ward, Chief Acquisitions Officer at RLJE Films, called the project “an audacious, high-stakes horror-thriller with a powerhouse ensemble cast and heart-pounding tension,” adding that the acquisition feels like “a dream-realized moment” going into its festival debut.

Prows directs from a script he co-wrote with Shaye Ogbonna (The Penguin), Tim Cairo (Off Ramp), and Jake Gibson (He Bled Neon) — a creative team that clearly understands gritty world-building and grounded genre storytelling. Behind the scenes, the film is produced by heavy hitters David S. Goyer and Keith Levine for Phantom Four, James Harris for Tea Shop Films, and Josh Goldbloom, with executive producers across XYZ Films, Bondit, and more — including YG.

“It’s been a long road to get here, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team to help push this rollercoaster of a film out into the world,” Prows said.

Expect blood, chaos, high-stakes alliances, and a subversive take on the vampire mythos when Night Patrol hits theaters exclusively on January 16, 2026.
