‘One Battle After Another’ & ‘Sinners’ Return to IMAX 70mm for One-Week Limited Engagement

Christmas is coming early for IMAX 70mm lovers — and for anyone rooting for two of this year’s biggest awards-season contenders. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners are officially heading back to theaters next month for a very limited, one-week run in IMAX 70mm.

Beginning december 12, both films will hit select IMAX locations across North America and London, with a handful of U.S. theaters kicking off early screenings on december 11. Tickets are on sale now, and if you missed these films in their original premium-format runs — or just want to experience them again the way they were meant to be seen — this is the moment.

Where You Can Watch the IMAX 70mm Engagement

Select theaters include:

  • AMC Lincoln Square — New York City, NY
  • Universal AMC CityWalk — Los Angeles, CA
  • Regal Irvine Spectrum & IMAX — Irvine, CA
  • AMC Metreon — San Francisco, CA
  • Indiana State Museum — Indianapolis, IN
  • Harkins Arizona Mills — Tempe, AZ
  • Autonation IMAX — Ft. Lauderdale, FL
  • Cinemark Dallas IMAX — Dallas, TX
  • Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan — Toronto, Canada
  • BFI IMAX — London, United Kingdom

Both films have been dominating the cultural conversation and the awards chatter all year long — and this encore theatrical run puts them back in front of voters as Oscar nominations loom in January 2026.

Coogler’s Sinners currently has the commercial edge — opening to $48M in april and climbing to over $360M worldwide — making it one of the year’s biggest original hits. PT Anderson’s One Battle After Another followed in september with a strong $22M debut and a $200M global total, propelled in part by huge premium-format support.

Both films were IMAX favorites the first time around, and this special 70mm event puts them right back in the awards-season spotlight, just weeks before voters begin filling out their ballots.
