‘One Piece’ Renewed for Season 3 as Netflix Debuts First Look at Season 2 [TEASER TRAILER]

Netflix isn’t waiting for One Piece to dock its second season before mapping out the next voyage. During the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, Japan, the streamer announced an early renewal for Season 3 of its hit live-action pirate adventure, adapted from Eiichiro Oda’s record-breaking manga.

The event also delivered a first look at Season 2, officially titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, which will debut in 2026. Production on Season 3 is set to begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa, with Ian Stokes joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner. Stokes steps into the role following Matt Owens’ exit earlier this year, after Owens co-led the first two seasons alongside Tracz.

Season 2 will see the Straw Hat Pirates — Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero Gibson), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) — venturing into the Grand Line, a dangerous and unpredictable stretch of sea filled with strange islands, powerful foes, and high-stakes challenges.

This chapter introduces the infamous Baroque Works organization, with Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, and David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3. Additional fresh faces include Callum Kerr as bounty hunter Smoker, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday/Vivi, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Brendan Murray as the giant Brogy. Joe Manganiello joins as Baroque Works leader Sir Crocodile, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta. Mikaela Hoover provides the voice and facial motion capture for Tony Tony Chopper, who officially joins the crew this season.

Since its premiere in 2023, Netflix’s One Piece has been a global phenomenon, topping the streamer’s Global Top 10 for eight weeks, reaching number one in more than 75 countries, and making history as the first Netflix English-language series to debut at number one in Japan. With nearly 100 million views, multiple award nominations, and one of the highest download counts on the platform, its popularity has made a third season all but inevitable.

The series is produced by Tomorrow Studios, an ITV Studios partner, in partnership with Shueisha. Executive producers for Season 2 include Matt Owens, Joe Tracz, Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe, and Steven Maeda. Tracz and Stokes will lead as co-showrunners for Season 3.
