Paramount and Legendary Set Street Fighter Release Date, Reveal Cast and First Plot Details

Street Fighter — and its parent studio Legendary — have officially found a new home. Legendary signed a three-year deal with Paramount to distribute its films, and the Kitao Sakurai–directed Street Fighter will be the first release out of the gate, hitting theaters October 16, 2026.

Set in 1993, the same year Street Fighter II dominated arcades, the movie follows estranged fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), who are pulled back into combat when Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament. But what begins as a test of fists and fate turns into something more sinister as a deadly conspiracy forces them to face off against each other — and the ghosts of their past.

The cast is stacked with big names from across film, TV, sports, and music:

  • Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
  • Andrew Koji as Ryu
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li
  • Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma
  • David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
  • Cody Rhodes as Guile
  • Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki
  • Eric André as Don Sauvage
  • Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim
  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
  • Orville Peck as Vega
  • Olivier Richters as Zangief
  • Hirooki Goto as E. Honda
  • Rayna Vallandingham as Juli
  • Alexander Volkanovski as Joe
  • Kyle Mooney as Marvin
  • Mel Jarnson as Cammy.

This marks a major early move for David Ellison’s revamped Paramount, which has also lured the Duffer Brothers from Netflix, inked a $7.7 billion UFC rights deal, and signed Will Smith’s Westbrook to a first-look film pact. Legendary will still keep select franchises with Warner Bros., including upcoming entries in Minecraft, Dune, and Godzilla x Kong.

Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg of Paramount said in a joint statement: “Street Fighter is the perfect start to our collaboration.” Legendary CEO Josh Grode added: “This partnership is an extraordinary opportunity, and we look forward to working closely with Paramount on stories that will captivate and inspire moviegoers worldwide.”
