Peacock has released the official trailer for its upcoming crime thriller series M.I.A., set to premiere May 7, 2026. The neon-drenched preview teases a dark, violent descent into Miami’s criminal underworld, anchored by a family tragedy, cartel ties, and a survivor seeking revenge.

Restless in the Florida Keys, Etta Tiger Jonze (played by Shannon Gisela) dreams of escaping into Miami’s glittering, sub-tropical nightlife. But when her family’s drug-running empire collapses in tragedy, she’s pulled into a dangerous transformation that forces her to fight for survival in Miami’s neon-lit criminal underground.

The series also stars Brittany Adebumola, Dylan Jackson, Cary Elwes, Danay Garcia, Alberto Guerra, Maurice Compte, Gerardo Celasco, and Marta Milans. Guest appearances include Sonia Braga, Loretta Devine, Edward James Olmos, Billy Burke, Tovah Feldshuh, Tyler Tomás Perez, and Paul Ben-Victor.

M.I.A. hails from writer and executive producer Bill Dubuque, known for co-creating Ozark. Karen Campbell serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer, while Alethea Jones directs and executive produces. Additional directors across the season include Gwyneth Horder-Payton, Marizee Almas, Ben Semanoff, and John Dahl.

The series is produced by MRC, with distribution handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution. It will stream exclusively on Peacock.

Set across South Florida—spanning Miami, the Florida Keys, and surrounding counties—the show leans into a long tradition of crime stories rooted in the region’s sun-soaked but dangerous aesthetic.

The trailer positions M.I.A. in the same creative lane as prestige crime dramas exploring Miami’s underworld, with a stylistic blend of neon visuals, cartel violence, and character-driven chaos.

M.I.A. premieres May 7, 2026 on Peacock, dropping all nine episodes in a binge release format.
