Peacock Renews ‘Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together’ for Season 2

Peacock is doubling down on Nelly and Ashanti.

The streamer has officially renewed Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together for a second season, with production set to begin this month and new episodes expected to premiere later this year.

The renewal comes after a strong debut for the eight-episode docuseries, which premiered on June 26, 2025. According to Peacock, the series ranked as its second-highest-reaching unscripted freshman original—signaling clear demand for more of the couple’s story.

The series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the real-life dynamic between Nelly and Ashanti as they navigate life together in the public eye. Season 2 will continue to follow the pair as they juggle their evolving careers, expanding business ventures, and life at home—this time with even more focus on how their world is shifting as their family grows and routines change.

What made the first season resonate wasn’t just the nostalgia of their relationship coming full circle—it was the access. The show leaned into the reality of rebuilding, balancing, and redefining what partnership looks like in a new chapter. And now, with their son entering a more active stage of life, the stakes—and the pace—naturally evolve.

Beyond the series, both Nelly and Ashanti have long maintained individual careers across music, film, and television. But this project has positioned them as something more intentional: a unified brand that reflects both legacy and reinvention.

Season 2 is expected to build on that, offering a closer look at how they’re moving forward—not just as artists, but as a family navigating love, visibility, and longevity in real time.

The series is executive produced by Cornell Haynes Jr., Ashanti Haynes, Tina Douglas, J Erving, Rebecca Quinn, Jennifer O’Connell, Nick Alarcon, Steve Michaels, Simon Thomas, Ariel Brozell, Oji Singletary, and Asabi Lee. It is produced by Pantheon Media Group and Velvet Hammer Media.

All episodes from Season 1 are currently streaming on Peacock.
