“Times may change, but friends are forever.”
Disney and Pixar have officially debuted the first trailer and poster for Toy Story 5, bringing Buzz (Tim Allen), Woody (Tom Hanks), Jessie (Joan Cusack) and the rest of the toys back for another adventure — this time facing off against modern technology.
The new installment introduces Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee), a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for Bonnie. As the toys struggle to compete with screens and shifting attention spans, playtime itself is put to the test.
The trailer also teases the long-awaited reunion between Woody and Buzz following Woody’s decision to leave the gang at the end of 2019’s Toy Story 4 to help lost toys find new homes.
Alongside the trailer drop, Pixar announced several new additions to the voice cast.
Mykal-Michelle Harris joins as Blaze, an independent 8-year-old girl who loves animals.
Craig Robinson voices Atlas, a cheerful talking GPS hippo toy.
As previously announced, Ernie Hudson is stepping into the role of Combat Carl, taking over the character following the passing of the late Carl Weathers, who voiced the action figure in previous installments.
Additional newly announced cast members include:
- Shelby Rabara as the excitable camera toy Snappy
- Scarlett Spears as Bonnie
- Matty Matheson as the tech-fearing toy Dr. Nutcase
Returning voice talent includes:
- Annie Potts as Bo Peep
- Wallace Shawn as Rex
- John Ratzenberger as Hamm
- Blake Clark as Slinky Dog
- Jeff Bergman as Mr. Potato Head
- Anna Vocino as Mrs. Potato Head
- Bonnie Hunt as Dolly
- Kristen Schaal as Trixie
- Melissa Villaseñor as Karen Beverly
- John Hopkins as Mr. Pricklepants
- Keanu Reeves as Duke Caboom
The previously announced cast also includes Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants and Tony Hale returning as Forky.
Toy Story 5 is directed by Academy Award® winner Andrew Stanton (WALL•E, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory) and co-directed by Kenna Harris (Ciao Alberto). The film is produced by Lindsey Collins (Turning Red) and features an original score by Randy Newman, who returns for his fifth Toy Story film.
The highly anticipated sequel will release exclusively in theaters nationwide on June 19, 2026.
Times may change — but Woody, Buzz and the gang aren’t done protecting playtime just yet.
