Even Robbers Get Robbed: First Trailer for ‘Play Dirty’ Starring LaKeith Stanfield and Mark Wahlberg

LaKeith Stanfield and Mark Wahlberg lead the charge in Shane Black’s Play Dirty, a gritty heist thriller that just dropped its first trailer. The film will stream globally on Prime Video October 1.

Stanfield stars as Grofield, a con artist who teams up with Parker (Wahlberg), a seasoned thief, and Zen (Rosa Salazar) to pull off a once-in-a-lifetime score. But revenge and riches come at a price: the crew must outsmart a South American dictator, the New York mob, and the world’s richest man if they hope to make it out alive.

This marks Shane Black’s return to directing after The Predator (2018). Known for his sharp, darkly comic takes on crime (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys), Black co-wrote the script with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi. Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey executive produce under their Team Downey banner.

The cast also features Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angel), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele), Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Nat Wolff (Death Note), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), and four-time Emmy winner Tony Shalhoub (Monk).

Based on Donald E. Westlake’s classic Parker novels — specifically The HunterPlay Dirty is the third film adaptation of the iconic character, following Point Blank (1967) and Payback (1999).
