Jahi Winston, Megan Lawless, Lili Taylor, Gideon Adlon, Jaeden Martell, James Wilkie Broderick, Jaya Harper, and Alex Consani have joined the cast of PRƎPPY, the true-crime film from STX Entertainment and Aggregate Films, Deadline reports exclusively. The film is currently in production in Manhattan.
Directed by Janicza Bravo from an original screenplay by David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck, PRƎPPY revisits the summer of 1986 leading up to the murder of recent high school graduate Jennifer Levin, killed by Robert Chambers, a former Manhattan private-school student, in New York’s Central Park. The case, in which Chambers was infamously dubbed the “Preppy Killer,” became a defining media story of its era, putting questions of privilege, class, and sex on public trial. Kit Connor, Diana Silvers, and Talia Ryder lead the cast, with Elizabeth Marvel also previously announced to star.
The new additions bring a mix of rising and established talent to the ensemble. Lawless, fresh off a breakout role in the horror hit Obsession, previously appeared in The Girl from Plainville, The Hate U Give, and Table 19. Taylor, a three-time Emmy nominee known for Outer Range, recently appeared in Daredevil: Born Again and The Conjuring: Last Rites, plays Mags Flanagan in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunshine on the Reaping, and wrapped a role opposite Billie Eilish in Sarah Polley’s The Bell Jar. Winston is known for Charm City Kings, Adlon for Euphoria, Martell for It, Broderick for Lady in the Lake, Harper for Roommates, and Consani for American Horror Story.
Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and John Buderwitz produce for Aggregate, alongside Peter Coleman and Paula Manzanedo for STX, and Bravo.
With production now underway and a cast this deep across both rising and veteran talent, PRƎPPY is positioning itself as one of the more ambitious true-crime period pieces moving through production this year, built around a case that still carries significant cultural weight nearly four decades later.
