Quintessa Swindell Joins Sean Durkin’s A24 Film ‘Deep Cuts’

Quintessa Swindell has joined the cast of Deep Cuts, the upcoming A24 film from writer-director Sean Durkin.

Swindell joins newly announced cast additions Abubakr Ali, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Gaby Hoffmann. Character details are being kept under wraps. As previously announced, Cailee Spaeny, Drew Starkey, and Ariela Barer also star.

Based on Holly Brickley’s debut novel, Deep Cuts is described as a love story set in the 2000s that follows two music-obsessed twenty-somethings as they navigate ambition, belonging, and adulthood over the course of a defining decade.

Durkin is directing from his own script and is also producing alongside Central’s Eli Bush, Ronald Bronstein, Josh Safdie, Anthony Katagas, Jordan Tappis, and A24. Blake Mills is set to create original music for the film.

Swindell has previously appeared in projects including Black Adam, Prime Target, In Treatment, Trinkets, Master Gardener, and Voyagers. Up next, they’ll appear in Mubi’s Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma alongside Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson.

Ali was most recently seen in Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite and is also known for Power Book II: Ghost, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, and Katy Keene. Jennifer Jason Leigh, an Oscar nominee, continues to stay busy with upcoming projects including Netflix’s Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. Hoffmann has also recently appeared in Eric, The Mastermind, and Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere.
