The Carson family is officially back — and Season 5 of The Ms. Pat Show is bringing an all-star guest lineup with it.
BET+’s hit comedy returns Wednesday, January 7, with notable guest appearances from Raven-Symoné, Tisha Campbell, Tristan “Mack” Wilds, Omeretta, Sandra Caldwell, Loretta Devine, and R&B legends SWV.
Inspired by comedian Pat “Ms. Pat” Williams-Lee’s memoir Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat, the R-rated sitcom follows a former drug dealer and convicted felon turned suburban mom navigating family life with unfiltered honesty. Over its first four seasons, the series earned praise for tackling difficult, often taboo subjects — from addiction and abortion to sexual abuse and generational trauma — through sharp comedy and emotional depth.
Season 5 continues that tradition as the Carson family confronts the lasting scars left by both absent and present parents, while still pushing forward toward their dreams. BET+ is calling the upcoming season the show’s “wildest and most uproarious yet,” signaling big emotional swings and meaningful shifts for the family.
Raven-Symoné continues her multifaceted relationship with the series in Season 5. After directing episodes in previous seasons, she returns behind the camera again this year — including an episode featuring guest star Heiress Harris — while also appearing on screen as a guest star herself.
Returning series regulars include Williams-Lee, J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Vince Swann, Briyana Guadalupe, and Theodore John Barnes, with Brittany Inge recurring this season.
The Ms. Pat Show was created by Williams-Lee and Jordan E. Cooper, who executive produce alongside Lee Daniels, Brian Grazer, Rose-Catherine Pinkney, Deb Evans, Patrick Walsh, Jon Radler, Natalie Berkus, and Mary Lou Belli, with Walsh also serving as creative producer. Allison Bosma and Jon DeWalt serve as co-executive producers. The series is produced by Imagine Entertainment, Lee Daniels Entertainment, DAE Light Media, and Cookout Entertainment.
Season 5 premieres January 7, exclusively on BET+.
