Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies have released the first teaser trailer for their latest undersea adventure: The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants.
Alongside SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom crew, Regina Hall and Ice Spice are set to bring fresh voices to the beloved franchise. The Grammy-nominated rapper will also contribute an original song to the film, marking one of her biggest Hollywood crossovers yet.
Who’s Back — and Who’s New
The new cast additions include:

- Sherry Cola
- Arturo Castro
They join longtime SpongeBob voices Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), and Mark Hamill as the Flying Dutchman.
The Story
This time, SpongeBob and his friends dive to the ocean’s depths to confront the ghost of the Flying Dutchman. Expect plenty of deep-sea chaos, comedy, and a few new faces along the way.
Behind the Scenes
Animator Derek Drymon makes his feature directorial debut with a script by Pam Brady and Matt Lieberman. Brady also produces alongside Lisa Stewart and Aaron Dem.
When It Drops
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants hits theaters December 19, 2025.
