‘Sinners’ Wins Two Grammys as Ludwig Göransson Takes Home Best Score

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners added another major milestone to its awards season run Sunday night, winning two Grammys at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.

The film claimed Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, honoring the various artists album, and Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, awarded to composer Ludwig Göransson for his original score.

The wins came after Sinners entered the night with five total nominations, positioning the film as one of the most-recognized visual media projects at this year’s ceremony. While the film was also nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media, none of its entries—including “I Lied to You,” “Pale, Pale Moon,” or the film’s title track—took home the award, which ultimately went to “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters.

Still, the two wins underscore the strength of Sinners’ musical identity. Göransson’s score—praised for its fusion of gospel, blues, horror, and Southern gothic elements—played a critical role in shaping the film’s atmosphere, while the compilation soundtrack brought together original songs and period-inspired selections that deepened the film’s cultural and emotional texture.

The Grammys victories further cement Sinners as one of the most celebrated films of its era. Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film has already been lauded across multiple awards bodies and continues to stand out not just for its storytelling, but for how intentionally music is woven into its world.

With two Grammy wins now added to its résumé, Sinners’ awards season momentum remains undeniable—reinforcing the film’s lasting impact beyond the screen and into the soundscape that helped define it.
