Sky Boards 50 Cent’s UK Boxing Drama ‘Fightland’ in New Co-Commission Deal with Starz

The international partnership expands the global reach of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s latest television venture.

Sky and Starz are stepping back into the ring together — this time with Fightland, a new boxing crime drama executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The companies have officially struck a co-commission agreement, with Sky boarding the upcoming Starz original series and securing UK and Ireland distribution rights. The deal also establishes a future first-look partnership between Sky and Starz on select upcoming series, strengthening an already active collaboration between the two platforms.

Fightland, which recently wrapped production in London, will premiere later this year on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK, while debuting on Starz in the U.S.

A Redemption Story Set Inside British Boxing

The eight-episode drama is set within London’s high-stakes boxing world and follows Maduka “Duke” Kilroy, played by Howard Charles (Top Boy, Whitstable Pearl). Once a celebrated heavyweight champion, Duke returns home after incarceration determined to rebuild his life — and confront the powerful crime family he believes betrayed him.

The series blends organized crime, personal redemption, and the business of boxing, exploring power dynamics both inside and outside the ring.

The ensemble cast includes:

  • Nicholas Pinnock as Kingsley Marshall, a South London crime boss tied to boxing and gambling
  • Deborah Ayorinde as Joy Marshall, Kingsley’s ambitious wife building her own empire
  • Charles Babalola as Ezekiel “Zeek” Marshall
  • Anita-Joy Uwajeh as Cebella “Cece” Marshall
  • Tahirah Sharif as Kim Harper
  • Tyler Conti as Justin “Jay” Hall
  • Richard Pepple as Duke’s estranged father and boxing gym owner

Another Chapter in 50 Cent and Starz’s Ongoing Relationship

Jackson executive produces through G-Unit Film & Television, continuing his long-running relationship with Starz following the success of the Power universe and its expanding slate of crime dramas.

The series is produced by Expanded Media’s Francis Hopkinson and Kate Leadbetter, with Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr. serving as showrunners, writers, and executive producers. Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith also executive produce and write.

For Starz, Fightland marks a notable milestone as the network’s first fully owned original series, signaling a strategic shift toward greater ownership of its programming library.

A Growing Global Strategy for Premium Drama

Sky’s involvement highlights how international co-commissioning continues to shape premium television production, allowing series like Fightland to launch with built-in global distribution from the start.

The partnership builds on previous collaborations between Sky and Starz, including projects such as Sweetpea and Amadeus, while positioning Fightland as a high-impact entry into the expanding market for globally driven crime dramas.

With British boxing as its backdrop and a creative team familiar with franchise storytelling, Fightland adds another ambitious series to 50 Cent’s growing television portfolio — one that continues to merge street-level storytelling with international scale.
