Apple TV+ is keeping Slow Horses on the move.
The streamer has officially renewed its hit spy drama for a seventh season, even though Season 5 hasn’t premiered yet. The new chapter will once again consist of six episodes and will continue the story of Jackson Lamb and his misfit MI5 team as they race to uncover and stop a mole at the heart of the British government.
The early pickup comes after Apple renewed the show for a sixth season back in October 2024, shortly after Season 4 wrapped.
Based on Mick Herron’s Slough House book series, Slow Horses stars Gary Oldman as the brilliantly crass Jackson Lamb, alongside Jack Lowden, Christopher Chung, Rosalind Eleazar, Saskia Reeves, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Jonathan Pryce. Season 5 is slated to premiere September 24 on Apple TV+.
A critical and fan favorite, the show blends British humor with high-stakes espionage. Its third season earned nine Emmy nominations, including a win for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.
“Slow Horses has won fans all over the world with its unique mix of self-deprecating British humor and high-octane action,” said Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, for Apple TV+. “I’m delighted viewers will have another season to enjoy Gary’s magnificent performance as Jackson Lamb.”
Season 7 is adapted by Ben Vanstone and directed by Robert McKillop. The series is produced by See-Saw Films, now under the Mediawan banner, with executive producers Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Dan Hassid, Mick Herron, Gail Mutrux, Douglas Urbanski, and Gary Oldman.
