The first official trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is here, and it’s picking up exactly where No Way Home left Peter Parker—alone.
Set four years after the events of the last film, Peter is still living with the consequences of Doctor Strange’s spell. No one remembers him, and instead of trying to reconnect, he’s fully leaned into being Spider-Man.
No personal life. No support system. Just the city.
The trailer leans into that reality, showing Peter moving through New York on his own while carrying the emotional weight of that decision. One line in particular sets the tone: “Sometimes Spider-Man has to do the hard thing, even if it breaks Peter Parker’s heart.” At the same time, there are hints that something more is going on.
The footage teases a shift in Peter—something physical that hasn’t been fully explained yet—alongside a growing threat in the city that looks like it’ll push him even further. Side note: we’re pretty sure Keith David is the narrating guiding the trailer.
On the cast side, Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man, with Zendaya back as MJ and Jacob Batalon reprising his role as Ned. The trailer also gives a glimpse of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, signaling a more street-level edge to the story, along with Mark Ruffalo appearing as Bruce Banner. Additional cast members include Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando, though they are not featured in this first trailer.
Behind the camera, Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) directs, marking a new chapter for Holland’s Spider-Man outside of Jon Watts’ trilogy.
And while it hasn’t been confirmed, some viewers believe the trailer’s narration sounds like Keith David—a detail that’s already getting people talking online.
After No Way Home reset Peter Parker’s entire world, Brand New Day looks focused on what it really means to move forward when you have nothing left to return to.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31.
