NBC’s mockumentary comedy St. Denis Medical is checking back in for Season 2 on Monday, November 3 at 8/7c, premiering with back-to-back episodes on NBC and streaming next day on Peacock.
The single-camera series stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, David Alan Grier, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Mekki Leeper, Kahyun Kim, and Kaliko Kauahi as the overworked staff of an underfunded Oregon hospital doing their best to care for patients while holding onto their sanity.
This season, hospital administrator Joyce (McLendon-Covey) is determined to reinvent the hospital under her new mantra, “St. Denis 2.0,” after landing a massive private donation. Unfortunately, her good intentions come with chaotic results — from a therapy horse wandering the halls to a full-blown goose invasion in the parking lot. Meanwhile, Dr. Bruce (Lawson) continues his antics, now using ChatGPT to write “yo mama” jokes, while Matt (Leeper) may have found an unorthodox way to one-up him.
The new trailer reveals that Joyce’s optimism quickly clashes with hospital reality, as she tries to balance staff shortages, department requests, and her own patience. “We are on our way to St. Denis 2.0,” she insists, while chaos unfolds all around her.
Also joining the fun this season are a handful of guest stars. Kristen Schaal (Bob’s Burgers, What We Do in the Shadows) makes her debut as Ashley, a bookish sci-fi fan who has a “meet-cute with an unexpected member of the St. Denis family.” Love Island host Ariana Madix will appear as Dr. Emerson, while Season 7 Islander Jeremiah Brown plays Jeff, a patient’s roommate. Lauren Lapkus, Tim Baltz, Lauren Weedman, and Frankie Quiñones also guest star, adding new layers to the hospital’s absurd but heartfelt world.
St. Denis Medical, from creators Eric Ledgin and Justin Spitzer (Superstore, American Auto), continues to blend workplace humor, heartfelt storytelling, and documentary-style absurdity. Season 1 ended with Joyce securing the hospital’s largest-ever donation and choosing to build a birthing center and family care unit — but the new episodes show that big ideas can sometimes cause even bigger headaches.
Produced by Universal Television, the 18-episode season will spotlight the everyday triumphs and disasters of hospital life, the quirks of its well-meaning staff, and the moments of humanity buried beneath the nonsense.
St. Denis Medical Season 2 premieres Monday, November 3 at 8/7c on NBC and will stream next day on Peacock. Season 1 is available to stream now.
