STARZ is set to bring viewers an adrenaline-fueled, globally relevant thriller with the acquisition of exclusive U.S. rights to the six-part South African drama “The Nowhere Man.” The series stars Bonko Khoza as Lukas, a former Special Forces mercenary grappling with PTSD, and Naturi Naughton-Lewis as Ruby, a woman determined to help him reclaim his life. The show will premiere on Friday, January 16, 2026, with new episodes streaming weekly on the STARZ app and across all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms.
In the series, Lukas has abandoned his violent past to live a quiet life as a junk collector in Johannesburg. But when he witnesses a home invasion and intervenes, he is forced back into the dangerous world he once left behind. To survive, he must confront the dark secrets of his former life and face the personal demons he’s tried to escape.
Naughton-Lewis, who also serves as an executive producer through her company Take Two Entertainment, called the project “an exciting evolution” in her career. “It’s especially meaningful to be reunited with my STARZ family to tell a bold, action-packed, globally relevant story. I can’t wait for audiences to dive in headfirst,” she said.
STARZ President Alison Hoffman praised Naughton-Lewis, saying, “We’re thrilled to be reunited with Naturi, an extraordinary talent viewers know and love. ‘The Nowhere Man’ is a powerful addition to our action lineup, and with our audience eager for the next high-octane thrill ride, this show delivers.”
Filmed on location in South Africa, “The Nowhere Man” was created by Motion Story and produced by Phillip Wolmarans and Nick Keulemans. Fred Wolmarans and Gareth Crocker directed the series, with Crocker serving as showrunner. Additional executive producers include Chris Lawrance, Colleen Lawrance, Sean Mik’ael Butler, Naughton-Lewis, and Two Lewis. The supporting cast features Nathan Castle, Dineo Rasedile, Moopi Mothibeli, and Andreas Damm.
