Netflix is lining up laughs with Roommates, a new ensemble comedy from director Chandler Levack (I Like Movies), and the cast is stacked. The upcoming film features Storm Reid (The Last of Us), Sarah Sherman (Saturday Night Live), Natasha Lyonne (Poker Face), Nick Kroll (Big Mouth), Sadie Sandler (You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah), Chloe East (Heretic).
Written by SNL writers Jimmy Fowlie and Ceara O’Sullivan, Roommates follows a naive and hopeful college freshman, Devon, who asks the effortlessly cool Celeste to be her roommate. What starts off as a potential friendship spirals into a war of passive aggression between the two.
Levack made her directorial debut with the critically acclaimed coming-of-age dramedy I Like Movies, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022. She recently wrapped Mile End Kicks, a rom-com set in Montreal’s 2011 indie music scene starring Jay Baruchel, Barbie Ferreira, and Devon Bostick.
Reid, whose breakout roles include Euphoria, Missing, and The Nun II, continues to add to her diverse slate of film and TV projects with this latest comedy addition.
Roommates is part of Netflix’s expanding comedy lineup, which also includes upcoming titles like Don’t Say Good Luck, Unabom, 72 Hours starring Kevin Hart, and David Fincher’s The Adventures of Cliff Booth.
