Peacock is developing a series adaptation of The Accomplice, the 2024 novel written by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Aaron Phillip Clark — and Taraji P. Henson is set to star.
Henson will executive produce the project through her TPH Entertainment banner, while Jackson executive produces under G-Unit Film & Television. UCP is on board as the studio. A writer has not yet been attached.
The Story
Henson will play Nia Adams, a fearless Texas Ranger determined to capture master thief Desmond Bell after his latest high-profile target — one of America’s wealthiest families. But as she closes in, Nia uncovers a conspiracy far bigger than a heist, forcing her to decide between exposing the truth and protecting the very system she’s sworn to uphold.
Jackson first teased the project and Henson’s involvement during an October appearance on The Breakfast Club.
Henson’s Ongoing Peacock Partnership
If greenlit to series, The Accomplice would mark Henson’s second project at Peacock. She recently appeared in the ensemble drama Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist alongside Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, and Terrence Howard.
The award-winning actress continues stacking prestige and powerhouse projects across film and television. Henson earned an Academy Award nomination for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, starred in the Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures, and has delivered standout performances in titles including Hustle & Flow, The Color Purple, and the Think Like a Man franchise. Her iconic turn as Cookie Lyon in Fox’s Empire earned her a Golden Globe and two Emmy nods, with additional Emmy nominations for Abbott Elementary and Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story.
50 Cent’s Expanding TV Empire
Jackson continues to expand his television slate following the massive success of the Power universe at Starz. Power Book III: Raising Kanan is gearing up for its fifth and final season, while Power Book IV: Force returns November 7 for its final run. Starz is also developing Power: Origins and Power: Legacy.
Beyond Starz, Jackson is producing upcoming boxing drama Fightland, developing Hulu’s Hip Hop Cop, and executive producing a docuseries about Sean “Diddy” Combs for Netflix. He will also appear as Balrog in the live-action Street Fighter film.
