Get a First Look at Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal Star in Netflix’s Psychological Thriller ‘His & Hers’

Netflix has released first-look photos and announced a premiere date for its upcoming limited series His & Hers, starring and executive produced by Tessa Thompson, alongside Jon Bernthal. The six-episode psychological thriller debuts globally on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Based on Alice Feeney’s bestselling novel, the series unfolds in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, where Anna (Thompson), a once-prominent news anchor, now lives in isolation—haunted by both her past and her fading career. But when she overhears news of a murder in Dahlonega, the small Georgia town where she grew up, Anna is jolted back to life and drawn into a dangerous investigation that may reveal more about her than she expects.

Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal) becomes suspicious of her involvement, and as both characters chase the truth, the series teases a story where, as Netflix notes, “there are two sides to every story—His & Hers—which means someone is always lying.”

The ensemble cast includes Pablo Schreiber, Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Marin Ireland, and Poppy Liu.

His & Hers is written and executive produced by William Oldroyd (Eileen, Lady Macbeth), Dee Johnson (Fellow Travelers, The Good Wife), and Bill Dubuque (Ozark). Oldroyd also directs and serves as co-showrunner alongside Johnson. Additional executive producers include Kristen Campo for Campout Productions, Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films, Kishori Rajan for Viva Maude, and Thompson herself. The series is produced by Fifth Season.

No trailer has been released yet, but Netflix shared several first-look photos featuring Thompson and Bernthal that hint at the show’s tense, sultry tone.

While His & Hers is billed as a limited series, its twisting narrative and dual perspectives suggest there may be more to uncover beyond its first season.
