‘The Bear’ to End With Season 5 as FX Series Prepares Final Chapter

the bear season 5 renewed

Jeremy Allen White–led hit comedy-drama will conclude with its upcoming fifth season, Deadline reports.

FX’s award-winning series The Bear is reportedly preparing to close out its story, with the upcoming fifth season expected to serve as the show’s final chapter.

Sources indicate the critically acclaimed comedy-drama led by Jeremy Allen White will wrap after Season 5, bringing an end to the intense culinary journey centered on chef Carmy Berzatto and the chaotic, evolving restaurant he built with his team.

The news aligns with developments from Season 4, where Carmy tells Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) that he plans to step away from the restaurant and sign over his stake—hinting that the series was already steering toward a conclusion.

While FX has not formally confirmed the end of the series, the network has historically allowed creators to determine when their shows reach their natural endpoint. The moment also gained traction online after Jamie Lee Curtis—who plays Carmy and Natalie’s mother Donna Berzatto—shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Abby Elliott from the Season 5 set, celebrating what appeared to be the completion of the story.

Created by Christopher Storer, The Bear premiered in 2022 and quickly became one of television’s most celebrated series. The show follows Carmy, a fine-dining chef who returns to Chicago to run his late brother’s sandwich shop, eventually transforming it into a high-end restaurant while navigating grief, ambition, and the pressures of leadership.

The ensemble cast includes Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon appearing in recurring roles.

Since its debut, the series has been a major awards contender. The Bear won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2023, with White, Moss-Bachrach, Edebiri, and Storer earning individual wins. Liza Colón-Zayas later took home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2024, while Curtis also won Outstanding Guest Actress for her performance as Donna.

Season 5 of The Bear is set to premiere later this year, marking what could be the final serving for one of television’s most acclaimed series of the past decade.
