‘The Coach Vick Experience’ Trailer Drops as Michael Vick’s Coaching Journey Unfolds at Norfolk State

BET has released the official trailer for The Coach Vick Experience, offering the first extended look at NFL icon Michael Vick stepping into another challenging roles in his life — first-time head coach of Norfolk State Spartans.

The docuseries is set to premiere Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 10 PM ET/9 PM CT on BET, and will air weekly. Executive produced by Vick alongside fellow NFL legends Michael Strahan and Deion Sanders, the series tracks Vick’s return home to Virginia as he takes on the pressure-packed mission of rebuilding a struggling HBCU football program.

Produced by SMAC Entertainment, the series positions itself as more than a sports doc. The trailer highlights the emotional weight of the job — learning to coach in real time, navigating community expectations, and leading young men who are hungry for opportunity while the entire season hangs in the balance.

At the center of the story is Vick’s personal evolution. “This chapter is about giving back to the game that gave me everything,” Vick says in the series. “Coaching at Norfolk State isn’t just about wins and losses. It’s about restoring pride and proving that transformation is possible when opportunity meets belief.”

The series also explores Vick’s life beyond the sidelines, including his relationship with his wife, Kijafa Vick, and the added complexity of coaching at the rival of her alma mater. According to SMAC executive producer FredAnthony Smith, the show captures both “the electricity” of Vick’s return to Norfolk State and the immense pressure that comes with trying to rebuild a legacy under a national spotlight.

For Strahan, the series reveals a different side of greatness. “Coaching is about accountability, preparation, and service,” he shared. “This series captures the work it takes to lead, not just play the game.” Sanders echoed that sentiment, emphasizing that Vick approached coaching with intention — seeking guidance, embracing the grind, and committing to leading with purpose during a season filled with challenges both on and off the field.

BET President Louis Carr framed the project as a natural fit for the network’s mission, calling The Coach Vick Experience an authentic look at life at an HBCU, rooted in culture, mentorship, and community impact.

The Coach Vick Experience debuts February 4, 2026, and continues Wednesdays on BET, offering an unfiltered look at what it really takes to rebuild a program — and a life — from the ground up.
