The CW is serving up a warm, feel-good romance this holiday season with the first trailer for Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell, the upcoming TV movie based on Taj McCoy’s beloved novel and led by Amber Riley. The film premieres Sunday, Nov. 30 at 8pm on The CW.
Directed by Samantha MacAdam, the film rounds out its cast with Dorian Grey, Nadine Whiteman, Malaika Hennie-Hamadi, Kevin Hanchard, and Golden Madison. The screenplay comes from Shelley Scarrow and Miriam van Emst.
Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell follows Savvy Sheldon (Riley), a woman in the middle of a life renovation—literally and figuratively. She’s stuck in a stressful job where appreciation is minimal, tangled in a situationship she’s outgrown, and holding onto the aging kitchen her late grandmother left her along with a deep love of cooking. With unwavering support from her mom and best friend, Savvy decides it’s time to rebuild from the inside out.
Enter Isaiah (Dorian Grey), the charming contractor hired to transform her kitchen who ends up stirring far more than fresh paint. As Savvy revamps her home, career, and sense of self, a potential new romance begins to simmer—one that might be the perfect recipe for a new chapter.
The film is one of six original movies adapted from Harlequin bestsellers that The CW will roll out under its new made-for-TV banner. The group of films is presented by CW Originals, Centinel Media, Harlequin Studio and Bell Media, in association with Fremantle and Neshama Entertainment.
