Gird your loins — Miranda Priestly is back.
20th Century Studios dropped the first teaser for The Devil Wears Prada 2, giving audiences a sleek, nostalgia-fueled reunion between Meryl Streep’s icy editor-in-chief and Anne Hathaway’s once-overwhelmed assistant, Andy Sachs.
Set to Madonna’s “Vogue,” the teaser opens with Streep’s Priestly strutting down Runway’s glossy hallways in crimson stilettos before stepping into an elevator — where she’s joined by a composed Andy. Without missing a beat, Miranda turns to her and says, “Took you long enough.”
That line alone sent the internet into a frenzy — both a cutting quip and a nod to the 19 years fans have waited for this sequel.
While plot details remain under wraps, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is expected to follow Miranda Priestly as she navigates an evolving fashion industry where print is struggling to stay relevant. This time, she’s up against Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), her former assistant turned high-powered luxury executive — and the keeper of the ad dollars Runway desperately needs to survive.
David Frankel, who directed the 2006 original, returns alongside screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna. The cast reunites Streep, Hathaway, Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms, and Tibor Feldman, with Kenneth Branagh playing Miranda’s husband. New additions include Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Lady Gaga is also rumored to appear after being spotted on set.
Based on Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel, the original film became a pop culture juggernaut, grossing over $326 million worldwide and gifting audiences lines still quoted today.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters May 1, 2026 — so yes, it finally took long enough.
