Apple TV+ Renews ‘The Morning Show’ for Season 5 Ahead of Highly Anticipated Season 4 Premiere

Apple TV+ is keeping The Morning Show on the airwaves. The acclaimed, award-winning drama has officially been renewed for a fifth season—just as season four prepares to debut globally tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

Led by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, who both star and executive produce, the series continues to be one of Apple TV+’s flagship titles. Showrunner and executive producer Charlotte Stoudt and director/executive producer Mimi Leder are also back at the helm, with the series produced by Media Res in partnership with Hello Sunshine and Echo Films.

Apple TV+ on the Renewal

The Morning Show has been a standout from the very start, debuting as one of the flagship series on Apple TV+,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+. “Thanks to the outstanding cast and creative team—led by Jennifer, Reese, Charlotte, and Mimi—the show continues to deliver addictively entertaining and provocative stories. We’re excited for viewers to experience the next chapter.”

Executive producer Michael Ellenberg, CEO of Media Res, added: “We are so grateful to Apple TV+ and the fans around the world who tune in every week, and are so excited for viewers to see this upcoming season and beyond.”

Season 4 Preview

Season four picks up in spring 2024, nearly two years after the events of season three. With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom faces bigger responsibilities, hidden motives, and the thorny issue of truth in a polarized America. Expect storylines tackling deepfakes, conspiracy theories, and corporate cover-ups—forcing both characters and audiences to ask: who can you trust?

Alongside Aniston and Witherspoon, returning stars include Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Greta Lee, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm. New cast members for season four include Aaron Pierre, William Jackson Harper, Boyd Holbrook, and Academy Award winners Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons.

Awards & Legacy

Since premiering in 2019, The Morning Show has become a critical and awards-season powerhouse. The series has picked up Emmy, SAG, and Critics Choice wins, including multiple awards for Billy Crudup’s performance as Cory Ellison. Season three alone landed 16 Emmy nominations, was named one of AFI’s Top 10 TV Programs of 2023, and earned Crudup another Emmy win.

Aniston previously won a SAG Award for her portrayal of Alex Levy, while Leder has been recognized with Emmy nominations for directing pivotal episodes.

The Bigger Picture

With season four promising explosive storylines and Apple TV+ already committing to season five, The Morning Show continues to prove it only gets sharper, timelier, and more addictive with each passing year.

Season four premieres globally tomorrow, September 17, 2025, on Apple TV+. Seasons one through three are streaming now.
