‘The Paper’ Starring Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo and More Sets Premiere Date at Peacock

Peacock has set a premiere date for The Paper, the upcoming workplace comedy from The Office co-creator Greg Daniels and Nathan for You’s Michael Koman. The mockumentary-style series will debut with four episodes on Wednesday, September 4, followed by two new episodes every Thursday through September 25.

The series stars Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, About Time), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), Chelsea Frei (Poker Face, The Cleaning Lady), Melvin Gregg (Snowfall, American Vandal), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Black Ops, A League of Their Own), Alex Edelman (Just For Us, Unfrosted), Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever, Santa Clarita Diet), Tim Key (The Witchfinder, This Time with Alan Partridge), and Oscar Nuñez (The Office, The Proposal).

Guest stars for the series include Eric Rahill, Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr., Nate Jackson, and Nancy Lenehan.

The Paper follows a documentary crew — yes, the same one that immortalized Dunder Mifflin — as they shift focus to a historic Midwestern newspaper and the determined publisher trying to breathe new life into it. What follows is a sharply observed, character-driven workplace story with comedic chaos, small-town quirks, and some very familiar energy.

The series was created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, who also serve as writers and executive producers under Daniels’ Deedle-Dee Productions and Universal Television. They’re joined by executive producers Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.

The season’s directors include Daniels, Ken Kwapis, Yana Gorskaya, Paul Lieberstein, Tazbah Chavez, Jason Woliner, Jennifer Celotta, Matt Sohn, Dave Rogers, and Jeff Blitz — many of whom are The Office alums.

The Paper premieres exclusively on Peacock September 4.
