The Pitt is continuing to expand its Season 2 cast.

Lawrence Robinson (Hulu’s Three Ways, BET’s Tales) has joined the acclaimed Max medical drama in a recurring role.

The critically acclaimed Max medical drama, created by ER alum R. Scott Gemmill, takes viewers inside a single 15-hour shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Told in real time, each episode represents one hour of chaos, loss, and high-stakes decision-making as the doctors and nurses race to manage an understaffed ER in a post-pandemic world.

He will portray Brian Hancock, a sweet and charming patient whose soccer injury might just lead to more than a few stitches—sparking a possible meet-cute with one of the hospital’s doctors.

Robinson’s casting comes as The Pitt enters a new chapter—both narratively and behind the scenes. Season 2 picks up ten months after the intense Season 1 finale and shifts its real-time lens to a high-pressure Fourth of July weekend shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.

As new faces enter, one familiar one won’t be returning. Tracy Ifeachor, who played senior resident Dr. Heather Collins in Season 1, will not appear in the upcoming season. While her absence was explained creatively in the final stretch of Season 1, her character’s off-screen departure adds further weight to the show’s evolving emotional dynamics.

Executive produced by Noah Wyle, Wyle leads the ensemble as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, with returning cast members including Katherine LaNasa, Taylor Dearden, Patrick Ball, Isa Briones, Fiona Dourif, Supriya Ganesh, Shabana Azeez, and Gerran Howell. Shawn Hatosy also returns in a guest role.

Robinson joins a growing list of new recurring players for Season 2, including Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, and Lucas Iverson. Sepideh Moafi (The L Word: Generation Q) also joins the main cast as a new attending physician in emergency medicine.

Since its debut, The Pitt has earned both critical acclaim and audience attention, racking up 13 Primetime Emmy nominations—including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Actor for Wyle—and maintaining a spot among Max’s top three most-watched titles globally. It currently holds a 95% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Robinson is represented by 831 Entertainment and HRI Talent. His recent credits include Three Ways, Sistas, Route 187, and Law & Order: SVU.

Season 2 of The Pitt is currently in production and slated to premiere in January 2026 on Max.
