Michael Jai White and Lisa Arrindell are teaming up for a new family drama headed to theaters this spring. The Secret Between Us, executive produced by multi-platinum R&B singer Keith Sweat, will open in select theaters on April 3, 2026 — Easter weekend.
Produced by Hidden Gem Entertainment in association with KDS Entertainment and Jaigantic Studios, the film centers on Jack, a man respected for his integrity whose seemingly perfect life begins to unravel when a son from a long-buried affair suddenly reappears. The revelation forces Jack and his family to confront painful truths, navigate resentment, and grapple with the possibility of forgiveness.
As Jack and his estranged son Torrance face the fallout of years of secrecy, the story explores how buried truths can fracture relationships — and whether honesty, compassion, and unexpected connections can help rebuild them.
Alongside White and Arrindell, the ensemble cast includes Victoria Rowell, Karen Abercrombie, Tre Ryan, Denzell Dandridge, Dominique Wilson, Destinee Monét, and Reggie Currelley.
The film is directed and produced by Tamera Hill, founder of Hidden Gem Entertainment, who continues building her slate of character-driven stories following her Netflix feature Never Heard. Hill’s work often focuses on stories rooted in authenticity, family dynamics, and emotional resilience.
“With The Secret Between Us, we wanted to tell an intimate story about the weight of secrets and the courage it takes to pursue forgiveness,” Hill shared about the project.
Keith Sweat, who serves as executive producer, described the film as a deeply emotional story about family and reconciliation, noting that its themes of forgiveness and overcoming adversity are especially relevant today.
In addition to The Secret Between Us, Hill is also behind the upcoming romantic drama The Soul Mate Experiment, starring David Banner, Brad James, Erica Peeples, and Teresa Celeste.
The Secret Between Us will debut in select theaters on April 3, 2026, with advance ticket sales through AMC Theaters beginning March 13.
