AMC’s Interview With the Vampire is getting a major rebrand — and a rockstar twist. The acclaimed drama will return in 2026 under a new title: The Vampire Lestat. The name change, announced at San Diego Comic-Con, reflects the show’s shift in perspective as it moves from Louis’ point of view to the life and legend of Lestat de Lioncourt.
Inspired by Anne Rice’s second novel in The Vampire Chronicles series, Season 3 will follow Lestat as he reclaims his narrative — and does so by forming a band and hitting the road. According to AMC, this new season is part pilgrimage, part concert tour, and all chaos.
Returning cast members include Sam Reid as Lestat, Jacob Anderson as Louis, Eric Bogosian as journalist Daniel Molloy, Delainey Hayles as Claudia, and Assad Zaman as Armand. New cast members joining the Immortal Universe are:
- Jennifer Ehle (Lioness) as Gabriella,
- Christopher Heyerdahl (Under the Banner of Heaven) as Marius,
- Damien Atkins (Slings & Arrows) as Magnus,
- Ella Ballentine (Black Conflux) as Baby Jenks,
- Jeanine Serralles (Apples Never Fall) as Christine Claire.
At Comic-Con’s Ballroom 20 panel, AMC debuted a teaser of Lestat electrifying the stage with a live performance, hinting at the musical and theatrical flair of the upcoming season. They also shared a tense scene between Louis and Daniel about the now-published memoir, a confrontational boardroom moment between Louis and Lestat, and — true to form — plenty of blood.
Fans in attendance were also treated to a crossover announcement: Eric Bogosian’s Daniel Molloy will appear in Talamasca, the upcoming third series in AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe. The show, which premieres October 26, follows the secret society tasked with monitoring supernatural beings like witches, vampires, and more.
Bogosian described his character’s relationship with the Talamasca as long-standing, stating, “They’ve been living on the edges of Daniel Malloy’s consciousness, and now he’s being pulled deeper into their world.”
AMC’s The Vampire Lestat is executive produced by Mark Johnson, Rolin Jones (who also serves as showrunner), Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice. The network’s expanding Immortal Universe also includes The Mayfair Witches and Talamasca, with each series connected through characters and mythology.
As the series pivots from Louis’ memories to Lestat’s unapologetic perspective, showrunner Rolin Jones assured fans that Louis isn’t going anywhere. “There’s way more Louis in our show than there is in the book,” he confirmed.
And while the rebrand signals a fresh start, the core of Interview With the Vampire — the immortal struggles between power, love, and legacy — remains deeply intact. This time, though, Lestat’s holding the mic.
