Congratulations are in order for Trevor Jackson!
The actor and musician has officially been promoted to series regular on Grey’s Anatomy ahead of its milestone 22nd season. Jackson made his debut in the final two episodes of last season, portraying Wes Bryant — a confident, brilliant, and admittedly arrogant new intern whose unexpected arrival at Grey Sloan Memorial quickly stirred up drama for Simone (Alexis Floyd) and Lucas (Niko Terho).

Season 22 of Grey’s Anatomy premieres tonight (October 9) on ABC, picking up in the aftermath of the explosive Season 21 finale that left lives hanging in the balance. The trailer teases high stakes, emotional fallout, and a hospital still reeling from tragedy — reminding viewers why Shonda Rhimes’ long-running medical drama continues to captivate audiences more than two decades later.
Season 22 also welcomes two new recurring guest stars: Jade Pettyjohn (Big Sky, Little Fires Everywhere) as Dani, an over-eager yet endearing new medical intern, and Anita Kalathara (Doom Patrol) as Kavita, a brilliant plastic surgeon known for her precision and candor.
Returning series regulars include Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey), James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber), Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt), Kim Raver (Teddy Altman), Caterina Scorsone (Amelia Shepherd), Camilla Luddington (Jo Wilson), Chris Carmack (Link Lincoln), and Jake Borelli (Levi Schmitt). The next generation of Grey Sloan’s doctors — Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, Harry Shum Jr., and Adelaide Kane — continue to navigate the pressures of residency, romance, and reinvention.
This season continues under showrunner Meg Marinis, who took the reins in Season 20 following Krista Vernoff’s exit. The creative team remains anchored by executive producers Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Debbie Allen, and Zoanne Clack, ensuring the series maintains its blend of surgical intensity and deeply human storytelling.
This marks Trevor Jackson’s first series regular role since Freeform’s grown-ish ended in 2024, where he played Aaron Jackson opposite Yara Shahidi for six seasons. His addition to Grey’s Anatomy reflects the series’ continued effort to blend fresh faces with its iconic ensemble, keeping the energy and emotion as charged as ever.
