Paramount+ has officially renewed Taylor Sheridan’s crime drama Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone, for a fourth season. The announcement was made during the Season 3 red carpet event in New York, just days before the season premieres on Sunday, Sept. 21.
The upcoming season will see a major shift behind the scenes. Terence Winter, who created Boardwalk Empire and served as Tulsa King’s first season showrunner, will return as executive producer and head writer. Dave Erickson, who led Season 3, is exiting the series to focus exclusively on Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown.
Back in November 2024, Stallone signed a new deal ensuring his involvement through Seasons 3 and 4. That agreement set the stage for Paramount+ to greenlight back-to-back renewals, with Season 3 confirmed in March and Season 4 now made official. According to insiders, this isn’t expected to be the end. Talks are reportedly underway for a new two-year deal with Stallone that could extend the series to six seasons if ratings remain strong.
Terence Winter’s Return
Winter, who was Tulsa King’s original showrunner, stepped back after Season 1 but rejoined as a writer and executive producer in Season 2, before consulting on Season 3. His full-time return signals a creative reset, with no separate showrunner expected for Season 4.
“We all got on the same page creatively,” Winter said of his earlier return.
Season 3 Storyline and Cast
In Season 3, Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) continues to expand his empire in Tulsa, but his rise attracts powerful new enemies. The Dunmires, an old-money family with deep roots and no interest in old-world rules, pose Dwight’s greatest challenge yet as he fights to protect both his crew and his family.
The cast includes Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Robert Patrick, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, Kevin Pollak, Vincent Piazza, Frank Grillo, Michael Beach, James Russo, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany.
Samuel L. Jackson will also appear this season as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a former prison associate of Dwight’s, ahead of leading the upcoming spinoff NOLA King.
Ratings and Legacy
Tulsa King has been a breakout hit for Paramount+. The Season 2 premiere drew a record 21.1 million global viewers, making it the platform’s most-watched global premiere at the time and the #1 global Paramount+ original series in 2024.
With Sheridan, Stallone, Winter, and a powerhouse cast at the center, Tulsa King is proving it has staying power—and Paramount+ is betting on more chapters in Dwight Manfredi’s saga.
