Get ready to rev your engines—Twisted Metal is back, and this time, it’s not just about survival. It’s about winning a wish. Peacock has officially dropped the adrenaline-charged trailer for Season 2 of the hit live-action adaptation, and if the first look is any indication, the chaos is just getting started.
Picking up after the explosive finale of Season 1, John Doe (Anthony Mackie) is done playing delivery man. Or at least he was—until Raven (Patty Guggenheim) ropes him into driving for a mysterious tournament run by a man named Calypso (Anthony Carrigan), who offers one thing money can’t buy: a wish. The catch? You’ll have to survive a gauntlet of heavily armed maniacs behind the wheel.
And yes, the iconic flaming-haired Sweet Tooth (Joe Seanoa, voiced by Will Arnett) is back and even more unhinged.
In true Twisted Metal fashion, the new trailer promises a blood-soaked demolition derby with bullets, banter, and big personalities. We see John and his not-so-friendly companion Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) going head-to-head with a new lineup of competitors—including John’s long-lost sister, the masked vigilante Dollface (Tiana Okoye), and fan favorites like Axel (Michael James Shaw), who is somehow still turning himself into a human monster truck.
Calypso, rocking some goth glam energy, makes his grand debut in live action, greeting the contestants—and the audience—with a simple promise: survive the tournament, and your heart’s desire will be granted. But if you’ve ever played the game (or watched Season 1), you know nothing in Twisted Metal comes without a brutal twist.
“The stakes couldn’t be higher as John and Quiet risk everything for a single wish,” said showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith. “Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz lead a stellar cast in a fast-paced, hysterical, thrilling season with unforgettable characters. It’s too bad not all of them will survive.”
Joining the returning cast are Saylor Bell Curda as Mayhem, Richard de Klerk as Mr. Grimm, Lisa Gilroy as Vermin, and more wild cards that are bound to raise the body count. Oh, and did we mention that Sweet Tooth literally fights with his head on fire?
When and Where to Watch
Twisted Metal Season 2 premieres July 31 on Peacock with the first three episodes, followed by new episodes every Thursday through August 28. Created by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland), the series is executive produced by Mackie, Arnett, Carrigan, and more, and continues to reimagine the beloved PlayStation game franchise for a new generation of thrill-seekers.
So buckle up—it’s tournament time.
