Tyler Perry is bringing a new dose of holiday cheer with Finding Joy, a romantic comedy premiering exclusively on Prime Video on November 5, 2025. Produced, written, and directed by Perry, the film blends heartfelt romance, friendship, and the kind of self-discovery that makes holiday movies unforgettable.
Storyline
The film follows Shannon Thornton as Joy, a talented New York fashion designer whose brilliance is constantly overshadowed by her boss. Just as her career struggles mirror her unlucky streak in love, her friends Ashley (played by Brittany S. Hall) and Littia (Inayah) encourage her to take a chance on her crush, Colton (Aaron O’Connell).
Joy’s hopeful journey takes her to Colorado, but instead of holiday magic, she finds herself blindsided by a devastating revelation and stranded in a snowstorm. At her lowest moment, she crosses paths with Ridge (Tosin Morohunfola), a stranger whose presence shifts her outlook on life and love in ways she never expected.
Cast and Crew
The ensemble cast includes Thornton, Morohunfola, Hall, Inayah, O’Connell, Eric Stanton Betts, Natalie O’Connell, Jeffery Thomas Johnson, and Whitney Goin.
Behind the camera, Perry leads the project as writer, director, and producer, alongside longtime collaborators Angi Bones and Will Areu.
A Holiday Watchlist Contender
With its snowy backdrop, themes of self-discovery, and a fresh mix of romance and comedy, Finding Joy is set to be a standout on this year’s holiday watchlist. Prime Video has positioned the film as a centerpiece of its 2025 holiday programming, bringing Perry’s signature storytelling to global audiences just in time for the festive season.
