The upcoming season will feature 13 episodes, with a special holiday premiere slated for later in 2024.

Created by Tyler Perry, the multi-cam sitcom follows the adventures of Dylan Gilmer, who plays a young hip-hop artist navigating life with his wealthy uncle’s family. The fifth season will spotlight Dylan and his cousin Rebecca, portrayed by Celina Smith, as they endeavor to grow their budding hip-hop record label amidst the broader family’s attempts to manage Dylan’s ambitious dreams.

“’Young Dylan’ has been such a fun series for families to watch together, and we’re looking forward to continuing the story of the Wilsons and Dylan as he strives to reach his dreams,” Perry shared in a statement to Variety.

The show’s ensemble cast includes Carl Anthony Payne II, Hero Hunter, Jet Miller, Mieko Hillman, and Aloma Lesley Wright. Tyler Perry serves as the executive producer, alongside producers Mark E. Swinton and Will Areu.

Since its debut in February 2020, “Young Dylan” has been a ratings success, boasting the highest-rated series premiere on Nickelodeon since 2017. The fourth season premiered in fall 2023 and continued to captivate its audience.

In addition to “Young Dylan,” Perry is involved in several other projects, including the highly anticipated thriller “Divorce in the Black,” set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 11. The film stars Meagan Good as a young banking professional fighting for her freedom against her controlling husband.

With “Young Dylan” returning for another exciting season, fans can look forward to more family-friendly fun and inspiring tales of determination and ambition.
