Tyler, the Creator Joins Timothée Chalamet in A24’s Ping Pong Drama ‘Marty Supreme’ [TRAILER]

Tyler, the Creator is officially stepping onto the big screen. The rapper and producer makes his feature film debut in Marty Supreme, the Josh Safdie-directed drama that just dropped its first trailer.

The film stars Timothée Chalamet as Marty Mauser, an ambitious ping-pong hustler chasing stardom in 1950s New York. Gwyneth Paltrow plays his love interest, while Odessa A’zion, Fran Drescher, Abel Ferrara, magician Penn Jillette, and even Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary round out the eccentric cast.

Tyler shows up in the trailer for a few heated (and funny) moments — from hyping up Chalamet in a car to aggressively shouting in his face.

While not a straight biopic, the story pulls inspiration from the real-life career of Marty Reisman, a ping-pong champion who rose from street hustler to global star. Safdie, making his first film since Uncut Gems (2019), co-wrote the script with Ronald Bronstein.

The preview sets the stage for a tense, stylish rise-to-glory story. “I have a purpose,” Chalamet’s character says, “and with that obligation comes sacrifice.” Later, he adds: “This game… it fills stadiums overseas. It’s only a matter of time before I’m staring at you from the cover of a Wheaties box.”

Produced by A24, Marty Supreme hits theaters nationwide on Christmas Day, 2025.
