Wendell Pierce Reunites with John Krasinski in High-Stakes Teaser Trailer for ‘Jack Ryan: Ghost War’

The world of Jack Ryan is expanding—and this time, it’s going bigger than ever.

Prime Video has dropped the first teaser for Jack Ryan: Ghost War, marking the franchise’s jump from streaming series to feature film. Led once again by John Krasinski, the film brings the CIA analyst-turned-operator back into the field for what’s being described as his “most personal and dangerous mission yet.” The movie is set to premiere May 20.

And for longtime viewers, there’s a major reunion at the center of it all. Wendell Pierce returns as James Greer, alongside Michael Kelly as Mike November and Betty Gabriel as CIA Director Elizabeth Wright—bringing back the core dynamic that helped define the original series.

A Mission That Hits Different

Set in real time, Ghost War raises the stakes immediately. Jack is pulled back into a global espionage crisis where every move is tracked, every ally is questionable, and the enemy always seems one step ahead. Reuniting with Greer and November, the team leans on experience and trust as their only advantage.

This time, they’re not alone. Sienna Miller joins the franchise as Emma Marlowe, a sharp MI6 officer who becomes an unexpected but essential partner as the mission spirals into something far more personal than anticipated.

From Streaming Hit to Big-Screen Expansion

The original Jack Ryan series ran for four seasons from 2018 to 2023, becoming one of Prime Video’s most successful action dramas. Now, Ghost War serves as a continuation—bridging the gap between television storytelling and cinematic scale.

Directed by Andrew Bernstein, the film is written by Krasinski and Aaron Rabin, with a story by Krasinski and Noah Oppenheim. It’s based on the iconic character created by Tom Clancy, whose work has fueled decades of political thrillers across film and television.

A Legacy Franchise Evolves

Ghost War also marks the latest chapter in a long-running franchise. Before Krasinski, the role of Jack Ryan has been portrayed by actors like Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine—but this new installment continues Krasinski’s more grounded, modern take on the character.

And if the teaser is any indication, Ghost War isn’t just another mission—it’s a full-circle moment for a version of Jack Ryan that audiences have grown with over the years.
